The Great Gatsby The Great Gatsby leaves an outstanding impression of the 1920s civilisation in America. Being that the book was written in the era that it reflects, it gives its legitimacy to the reader in a mien that we can treat the authors vision for the novel. F. Scott Fitzgerald almost immediately gives the reader an opportunity to meet what hes writing. He begins with a narrative by Nick Carra performer describing his reasoning for moving to western United States Egg in Long Island, peeled York. He starts off with giving a bit of his earth as a Yale graduate, and his interest in learning the hamper business. He relays his ties to the neighborhood he moves to, organism across the body of water from his cousin Daisy Buchanan and her keep up Tom with whom Nick graduated from Yale. The way it reflects on the culture of the 1920s is in the way Nick Carraway describes what hes move into. The lavish homes and silly antics and attitudes of the people he meets, the ir drunken parties, and the way they spend their funds on frivolous things. Nick Carraway however, moves into a small cottage on the outskirts of a property of a rather stupendous humanitysion of a mysterious man. Its interest to read that such a humble and simple man move into a fraternity such as West Egg.
The culture is expressed striking when Nick Carraway visits his cousin Daisy and her husband Tom for dinner. He is greeted by his cousins anxious attitude, her bearish husband, and a lymph gland named Jordan Baker with whom Carraway eventually begins a relationship with, but isnt lots talked about. Jorda n Baker has a much more key fibre in the st! ory as well as being Carraways love interest. Nick Carraway describes the room he walks into in great detail from the sofa to the window treatments, making it truly thriving to imagine what the room looked like in Fitzgeralds mind.
