The company was extremely careful about either staff members following the organizations cultural and business traditions, and its success and competitiveness in the market made it increasingly reluctant to change anything in its attitudes toward diversity and hiring. However, the business realities were changing, demanding similar changes in our finance department. Our organization had to hire new people, including two black women and one Asian man. All three displayed extraordinary performance results but they seemed to experience serious difficulties in their striving to adjust to the new conditions of work.
